UNION THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY
Union Theological Seminary was founded in 1836 by a group of pastors and lay church leaders who strongly believed that "large cities furnish many peculiar facilities and advantages for conducting theological education...." A Christian institution for graduate theological education, Union is distinguished by its academic rigor and theological creativity. It is the oldest inter-denominational seminary in the nation and is independent of any other institution.
