TEACHERS COLLEGE
Founded in 1887, the Gothic and Tudor-styled brick and sandstone buildings of Teachers College, Columbia University, occupy the block just north of Columbia's main campus nation's largest and most comprehensive graduate school devoted to education, health and psychology and is known internationally for its excellence in teacher education. U.S. News and World Report ranked Teachers College as the number one graduate school of education from 1996 through 1998. Its student body contains more than 5,000 students and 150 full-time faculty.
